We had dinner at Pomeral last week. We came early and had the nicest French restaurant all to ourselves. Got the benefits of happy hour for their appetizers. We made a tasting menu out of the appetizer list. Started with raw oysters and cured swordfish; finished with the most generous portion of foie gras I have ever had. The pork belly and coddled duck egg were just as enticing and at a happy hour price. Ashley was spectacular in developing our tasting menu.

Pomerol is very close to our business and we've enjoyed their happy hour fairly frequently. In fact, it's so good, we have to limit ourselves to only once a week.Four of us went for supper for a joint birthday celebration recently and were treated to a fine, fine meal -- excellent tuna, ribs, and everything! Service is personable, the atmosphere fine. But mainly it's about the superb cocktails (Thank you, Rocky!) and food.

My third time at Pomerol and it continues to please. A solid French heavy wine list with a lot of variety and reasonable price points. We had a nice Picpoul and an excellent Gigondas. Our party of four had some very tasty and very fresh seafood appetizers followed by Pomerol's trademark wood grilled meats and seafood, including a very tasty octopus, succulent pork shoulder steak and rich beef flank steak. Yum. A protein lovers delight. Acceptable service was a bit slow at times by overall a very solid experience.
