Right over the road from Rembrandhuis, I was pleasantly surprised by the Café Orff. We had been in the Rembrandthuis longer than expected, and I was starving when we came out; so, rather than go off away from the tourist area, we took a chance and went into Café Orff. Two glasses of white wine, two medium Heinekens, a toastie and a salmon and cheese open sandwich came to 23.30 Euros. The food was promptly and politely served, and the waiter spoke good English. If in Amsterdam again I’d be happy to go there for a light lunch or snack.
