Being one of our favourite restaurant along Old Klang Road for casual dining or to celebrate a special ocassion, Chong Heng never fails to impress. From the friendly and prompt service to the good quality consistent cooking, it just continues to keep us returning for more. The restaurant is not large but after a recent renovation to relocate the private function rooms, the restaurant now feels a whole lot more spacious than before. Steamed live fishes are highly recommended and always consistently steamd to perfection and served on a platter with a good quality soya sauce. The restaurant has limited fish tanks containing the live fishes but will usually have tilapias, rock goby & groupers. The roasted duck is rather unique and served on a special sauce. Another favourite of ours is the claypot pork trotter, a heavenly yet sinful dish of chunky fats attached to tender meat. The claypot beef tendon is simply delectable & served with a generous portion of broccoli, chinese mushrooms & home made tofu. Parking is no issue since they have both open air and basement option. And its free of charge too. Location wise is pretty good and easily accessible. It occupies part of the ground floor of NewCom Club which is opposite Pearl International Hotel.
This restaurant is clearly visible when driving along Jalan Klang Lama. It is located within Newcom building which also houses several bars/bistro/eatery & a private club. Basement parking is ample for visitors while the parking on ground level are reserved for the club members. The restaurant has a rather huge menu to choose from and most of which are good & tasty. Live fishes are also available, best steamed with a light drizzle of soya sauce. Our favourites include the kailan fried with mui choy, steamed whole chicken, braised pork trotter in claypot & kam heong tofu. This restaurant also caters to group bookings with a variety of set menu packages & 2 private rooms. While the restaurant is not large, but it is still able to accomodate quite a few tables. Sometimes the restaurant runs at full capacity especially during dinner time, so booking in advance is recommended.
