This was hands down my favorite meal in Italy. We have been in Italy a week and have visited 4 cities and eaten out in all of them. The osteria is hard to find, follow Google maps walking, then give up and walk slightly back up the hill just past the parking garage. Look for the vertical green and white sign. It has lots of tables outside and several inside. We were the only 2 people there from 730-9. (Granted that\s early for dinner in Italy.). The menu is simple and the waiter(son) does a nice job of explaining. The primi dish was spicy and tasty w local bacon. For our secondi we got the bisonte (bison steak) and the steak with prosciutto and cheese. The bison was served over arugula and cooked beautifully (med rare). We also got the potatoes and onions as side dishes. The chef (father) checked on us with each course. The baked onion was the star of the meal. It was baked to carmelized perfection. At the end of our meal, the mother even showed me, in the kitchen, how to cook it!!! Excellent meal complemented by tasty local Chianti and really nice people.

Real local family-run place; luckily my son who is studying here can speak Italian. Picked some of the specials, very meat-based. We ate about 8pm on a Saturday night; just got out as a group of 14 locals arrived! Cost for 3 with wine came out at a bit over E100 which was good for the food eaten.
