The outside leaves a bit to be desired, but the food is awesome! We were a little concerned when we pulled up, but we figured we\d give them a chance. We are so glad that we did. The dining area is small, but still so very worth it.

So the exterior and walk-in are a little off-puttingly plain, especially if you’d had the coupon leaflet in the mail with its photograph of inviting vino bottle alongside glistening pizza and other goodies, all ready for consumption in probably atmospheric candlelit surroundings. No. Buono’s is all function — a small counter with the pizzas, pasta and other dishes listed on boards above, and a busy take-out trade going on. There is a small seating area sharp left, but that’s pretty basic too, leavened only by a selection of old b/w photos of historic San Pedro on the walls, and two rather hectic overhead fans. And you can only get alcohol to go. But the pizza itself…? oh yes! We probably didn’t make quite the best selection, choosing to share a medium-size of the day’s Bianca special, laden with a quite astonishing quantity and variety of deliquescent cheeses plus spinach, basil, sun-dried tomatoes and prosciutto. It was delicious, with a gorgeous crisp crust deeply filled, but overall a bit too rich and slightly bland. Next time we’ll make a more judicious selection from the array of build-your-own options… can’t wait.
