We drive all the way from Newcastle to Gymea to have dinner at The Italian Stallion. That\s 320 kms for the return journey. The food has to be something special for you to do that. James Watson is a standout chef. His Duck Salad is succulent, as is the Lamb, the Beef, the Scallops, the Crab Linguini, and the amazing white onion butter served with the bread course. You get the drift. Everything on the menu is lip smacking delicious. Praise also to Fabio who has to be the world\s most charming and helpful waiter. Did I mention the cocktails? I need to stop now ... The long journey down is one of anticipation. The journey home sees us smiling contentedly.

Sat night: very noisy. Didn\t need the loud music to accentuate the problem. Front door auto closure needs adjusting: the cold blast that continued after persons transmitted the doorway was not welcome. Service was good. Food was very good. Regrettably not BYO: a let down in the \burbs!\ Chianti was up to the mark, but as expected, a tad expensive. Would go again on a quiet night, seated away from the front door.

I think this is meant to be a very trendy restaurant but I just couldn\t see it. I thought it was nice but I have had similar Italian elsewhere where the bill was half the price. Service was great. Wine was extremely expensive. I think I am not the target market for this restaurant. We had a good night but I think I wouldn\t bother going back.
