I have been to few Mexican restaurants in kl and Las Carretas is one od my favourite if not one of the best among others. The smoothies are tempting and throughly meet the expectations. I one thing exceptional i loved about this place was the special birthday celebration they give to the costumers

This was our first visit to Las Carretas. Service was friendly & the food was pretty good. The only Mexican item we ordered was the soup - Sopa De Rabo,an oxtail soup which I thought was similar in taste to a Minestrone soup. The Home Smoked Australian beef brisket was very good,the meat was soft and tasty .The Spaghetti Vongole was rather plain,perhaps if it had some wine sauce to it would have turned out much better. The Australian Lamb Shank was OK..my wife however preferred if it was not served with pasta ( in this case Tagliatelle.)The only disappointment was the Salchida de Pollo- Chunky Chorizo-Chicken sausage. It tasted like an ordinary Chicken Frankfurter smeared with onion sauce. We wrapped up with desserts comprising the Home Made Brownies & Flan De Nuez De Macadamia..enjoyed both of them. Would I recommend this place for a dinner outing? Certainly!
