A day out with family and my little 9 month old. We stopped for a bite to eat the food was presented well in the cabinets and it all looked quiet yum. The sandwiches were well proportioned for what you payed and went down a treat. The only down fall was the room between the tables was difficult to manoeuvre around with a stroller, all in all it was a lovely place and friendly staff.

As you drive from the greater Auckland area towards Coromandel and the Bay of Plenty, you find a town called Maramarua. Blink and you miss it, but it is the home of the Red Fox Tavern, which is well signposted. Less than a km before the Red Fox, heading south/east, there is a very nondescript building on a corner on the right hand side of the highway called the Pukeko\s Nest. You can turn right with the aid of a turning lane, and it\s right there, with enough parking for the volume of business they would presumably do. But hey, it\s in the country, right? Brunch was our objective, and we were not overly optimistic just from the feel and look of the building. How you can be misled by appearances! the food was fabulous. Large/huge portions, fresh, not oily (my Big Breakfast left me having difficulty walking, but not feeling yucky), and good coffee, all at reasonable prices. Next time you drive this route, in either direction, do drop in.....

Stopped on the way back to Auckland from paeroa for a coffee, staff were not pleasant and coffee wasn\t very nice. I would stop earlier next time.
