Walking in search of rahim\s was in itself a pleasure. Hidden in a little street among ithar and sheesha stores rahim\s is the home of mouth watering nihari, which for the uninitiated is a thick spicy soup like gravy served with fresh soft kulchas. 4stars for the singular taste 1 less for the ambience which is a bit dungeon-ish.. although it adds to the ethnic feel.

One of 2 Restaurants that our friend took us to in Lucknow.. Rahim ki Nihari is in one of many galis near the Chowk..very close to Tunday Kebab..nothing fancy to look at.. constantly crowded during our entire meal.. We simply ordered what we were told to..Nihari Kulcha & Paaya..the 2 main specialties of the Restaurant..we tried both Buffalo & Mutton.. a great first time visit to this place..loaded with History..no doubt the food was par excellence!

This small shop is THE hidden jewel of Lucknow . That piping hot nihari with the freshly baked kulchas will send you In a food trance FOR SURE ! Mine and my dad\s childhood favorite ! Pay them a visit and you will surely fall in love with their food . A trip to Lucknow is incomplete if you do not try their nihari kulcha !
