Good atmosphere, good food great service! The meals are on the expensive side but pork was perfect with a delicious salad on the side. As a fussy Parma person it was juicy not over cooked and dry like some, only fault was there wasn\t a lot of chips, to accompany it for my I liking! Drinks were refreshing from the bar...cash only (or you can set up a tab for card payments)

Having lived in the hills many years ago we decided for old times sake to visit the pub again for lunch. Bad mistake. The place is very dated and tied and is in serious need of a revamp. The open fire was fine and it was important that you sat near it as I\m not sure there was any other form of heating. The waitress was fine showing us to a seat and explaining the menu and specials and she did keep a close eye on the fire. We ordered some garlic bread and this was fine and a quite large serve. As this had blunted our appetite we decided on two entrées, lemon calamari and tempura scollops. The calamari was ok, reasonable soft to eat although a little soggy. This was served with a mixed salad on the same plate. My wife had the scollops and these were served in a thick fatty and oily batter. We advised the waitress that this was not tempura batter and after she spoke to the chef she reported back that it was tempura batter. This tells me the so called chef is only a cook as anyone who has ever bothered to eat Japanese food will know that the batter is thin and translucent. It is attitudes like this that mean we will not visit here again.
