My husband and stayed in a vacation rentals,just up the street from the Lord Nelson . We had a great welcome, The owner and the locals of the pub went out of their ways to help us with directions ,print outs of Google Street maps . Thank you Richard , and Steve and Mark . We had most of our evening meals here and the food was always excellent,the service was beyond measure . I have been here about three times over the last couple of months and have been very impressed every time. The food is always brilliant (I keep going back to the calamari and the cheese burger), the wine is fantastic, my beer drinking fellow diners speak highly of the beer and the staff are amazing. They are particularly brilliant if you bring a dog (bowl of water waiting if you call ahead) but are also generally fantastic even if you don\t have a dog. It is now one of my favourite locals and I will very happily continue to go back on a regular basis. I really cannot recommend the Lord Nelson more highly.
