We had to wait for a seat, as they were quite busy, but we ordered while waiting so the food was served promptly as soon as they found us a table. The restaurant is partitioned, so it wasn't very noisy despite being busy. We ordered a couple of sushi platters, salad, edamame, soup and an entree (tea was free), and the entire meal came to less than US$20 - great deal, and we had more than enough to eat. Sushi tasted so fresh... Service was very good, too. Will definitely return to this restaurant!
have u ever been osaka? if not come here. u can feel dotomburi style sake bar in this restaurant. various menu and comfortable seats are good points of this restaurant.
I had a few lunches and dinners at Daruma. While they were not very impressive, I was generally pleased with their food and service. This bistro looks dark. There is only a front glass door without any windows. The wall and ceiling were painted black. The seating were arranged to separated booths with just enough lighting on the table. It helps to bring some senses of privacy to the customers. But it is suitable for a group up to 4 people only. The room and tables were clean but a bit narrow. I didn't have many choices of sashimi and sushi from the menu. Their quality was jusy okay. However I think the focus of Daruma to bento, a meal set of rice and some other proteins and side dishes. They offers delivery for them also. I tried a set of grilled eel with rice, seaweed soup with clams and salad. And it comes with a glass of tea. The eel piece was delicious and tender, the rice was right and the sauce was bit sweet but still in a good taste. However I feel the eel piece was slight smaller than I expected. And it was certainly not on par in term of taste and quality with other more upscale Japanese restaurants in Hanoi. But Daruma's price is reasonable and I am okay with that. The service is okay. There was a button in each booth to push to call the staff.
