Restaurante "Leite" opened its doors in downtown Recife in 1882! And it is fantastically still there! It is probably the longest running restaurant in the whole country! Amazing tradition! And, as a matter of fact, "Leite" is my favorite restaurant in Recife. It is a fabulous, classy and chic restaurant! A cosmopolitan clientele, an extremely friendly service, with impeccable waiters, a soft piano playing standards of international and Brazilian music, and most of all, a delicious food and a high-end wine list. Portuguese specialties, as well as extra fresh seafood, are on its menu. Prices? Absolutely correct and averaged to similar restaurants all over Brazil. As it is located in downtown Recife (Santo Antônio quarter), use taxis at all times. Reservations are recommended. Simply unmissable! Bon Appétit!
