Dinner with the kids mid week and No 1 was top of the list. Having eaten here many times No 1 never fails to impress. Food is locally sourced, cooked to perfection and served by friendly and helpful staff. From arrival to departure, even with 2 kids, we always felt welcome. The beef shin and risotto is absolutely stunning and the kids devoured the burgers. 2 courses for 3 people and 2 drinks for just over £80.

The service here is exceptional. The space may be located underground, but it\s the underground feel and exposed stone that makes this place so charming. The Scottish smoked salmon as an appetizer was outstanding and as our waiter explained "it was in the sea this morning." I ordered the beef shin which fell off the bone.
