Some friends and I are doing a Barbecue Challenge--eating at Central Florida\s top 15 BBQ joints. Cecil\s was on the list, so we made our first visit there last Tuesday. The food was great. I ordered brisket, and it was fork-tender. My husband had chicken, and his was juicy and good. There\s an excellent selection of side dishes. I chose fried okra and jalapeno mashed potatoes. One member of our party asked if the potatoes were hot and spicy and was told "They are spicy but not hot." Well...they had a bit of a bite to them, but I enjoyed trying something new and my friend just slathered hers with butter and refilled her drink. Service was quick--you order from a buffet-style bar where you watch your meat being carved and then serve yourself side dishes. Since we were there on a Tuesday, it was uncrowded. Cecil\s is a great choice for good, down-home barbecue.

I\ve been here several times and the food is always great. The pulled pork is my favorite. They serve it with some Texas toast and chose of sides. The sauces are really good. They keep them warm, which is something I\ve never seen at another BBQ place.
