We live right in front it the restaurant and for us is our go to place for comfort food at great prices. I actually do love the slightly outdated look, finally a place with a bit of history and soul in Bangkok, I get so bored by all these fancy new places that look all alike and always have the same food. Special tips: they have a fantastic lunch menu where you can get many dishes for 80 baht, my fav are red duck curry with jasmine rice and khao soi (yummy Burmese-influenced dish served in northern Laos and northern Thailand). I also like the specials, for example mangosteen smoothie and the bakery is great, we love the pineapple pastries, the mini macaroons and you can order customized birthdays cakes, the Thai tea cake is yummy. And prices are fantastic. For families with babies, no high chairs available :(
