Good food in small portions. But to be charged 13,000 baht for two people. It's got to be much much better. Come out and say hello, we were the only people in your restaurant that night. Goodluck !!!
We went to this restaurant a while ago when they did their soft opening. The service was extremely slow and it took over 3 hours to serve all of our food. The portions were very tiny, which is ok, but a mouthful every 15 to 30 minutes just doesn't cut it, no matter how good they are. We were all so hungry by the end of it that when we got home we binged on cheese, bread, and olives!
It's not easy for any restaurant to get a 1-star rating from me. But the combination of food, service and attitude of Chef Marcus Townsend easily made this my worst dining experience so far. I think it's important for everyone who is considering to pay 4-8k THB get some insight before they decide to go. 1. No hot dish. The portion is super tiny. That's the concept of the restaurant, "people only taste their food in the first few bites". 2. Our 13-course meal took 2.5 hours to complete (which can be frustrated due to small portion). We heard that another group who had 25-course took 4 hours. There were only two tables when we were there. 3. Servers were not able to describe the dish properly 4. Underwhelmed wine list 5. Pop-music playlist were played repeatedly three times when we were served (First world problem, I know) 6. At the end of the meal we asked to meet Chef Marcus Townsend to give him some feedback. Amazingly, he interrogated with questions like whether we owned a restaurant, where did we dine, whether we had research his restaurant. At the end, he dismissed us and suggested us to 'get out' from his restaurant, and that concluded our eye-opening dining experience.
