There were 4 of us from a cruise ship on a private tour, and our guide took us here for lunch. We had a lovely meal, and all 4 of us commented how nice it was! Our guide had pre-ordered, and as we arrived they brought out an assortment of share dishes for our table. We were sitting by the window, so had beautiful views of the river. It was a very casual and relaxed feel to the place, and the food was lovely!

This local restaurant, nestled behind the navy club and close to the Grand Palace, is a little gem. I come here every time I visit Bangkok, without fail. All the seafood is excellent - however I go mainly for the Som Tam (green papaya salad) which is just out-of-this world - far and away the best I have had anywhere in Thailand.

Krua Khun Kung is a great local restaurant on the banks of the river and is accessed through the Navy Club. It\s very close to the Royal Palace. Food is great and if you are lucky grab a table on the floating dock out front. The restaurant is very popular with both tourists and locals so it well worth going for an early or late lunch to avoid peak meal time.
