Kona beers are growing and choices in the supermarket are getting bigger. But my favorite, the Nut Brown, is only available at the brewery. And even then, the kegs don\t always come regularly from Big Island. But when they do... I am a Newcastle fan, but Nut Brown would be my go to if it was bottled. It\s just such a sweet, mild brown that it\s doesn\t get cloying like browns can, even in the warmer climate. My backup for the days the Brown isn\t in is the Lavaman, but still, not the same. I usually just roll into the bar around pau hana time (that\s happy hour) and delve into my other Kona vice: the pizza rolls. I try to eat a mostly veggie diet, but these pepperoni pizza rolls are addictive. I love my Round Table and I love my Kona Brewing pizza rolls. Used to give you the full order of 5 for happy hour, but now that count is down to 3 on a plate. The roasted garlic clove with the Gorgonzola dipping sauce and bread is also heavenly (though messy) and is a great way to make sure you knock out any potential bugs you might have been exposed to on the plane over. Can\t remember, but not sure if the pretzel with the cheddar dipping sauce is happy hour or not? Also a good bet to gnaw on while you savor your frosty brew and watch one of the many TVs in the bar or just gaze out the window. Love the marina location. It is the perfect blend of Hawaii and beer. Nice that it\s away from HNL proper; I never mind the drive down this way, though that left turn from the main highway can suck. Parking can usually be found pretty easily. Bathrooms are clean, but air seems to always smell a little stale. We just tend to grab a drink and some pupus. Not sure I\d invest in a full dinner here. Maybe someday? Bring your Hydra Pak bottles and fill so you can take home.
