Hungry and thirsty after touring the botanic gardens, we asked our guide to suggest where we should go. He and the receptionist both smiled to themselves when they mentioned Veejays which seemed a good sign so we went in search to find this place. Every local knows it so that wasn\t difficult apart from navigating through traffic and shockingly bad roads. The food is authentic local. Even the drinks are home-made, or at least seemed so and all we ate was delicious. The entrance is to the side, which effectively cuts off the dusty road traffic and the clean, cool and comfortable place to sit and enjoy our lunch was much appreciated. Food is served buffet style so you can have as much or as little as fits your appetite. We would go back!

Kirk Bailey, our cab driver/tour guide recommended this. It\s popular with both locals and tourists in the know. There is a small cafeteria style area where you order. You can order from the wall menu or the "buffet" (which they serve you from). We did both. I had a buffet meal of fried fish, rice, provisions and salad. The meal was so large I had to share it! My husband and grown kids had the rotis from the menu, as did my niece. Again, generous portion with a side salad. When ordering from the menu be prepared to wait a little bit as they will need to make your meal for you. There is air conditioning in the small dining area where you can wait while your food is being prepared. We had a vegetarian, lactose intolerant, and low carb diners in our group and there was ample selection for all of us.
