Queenies has become a local favourite since the first time we visited. The vibe is playful, with a miss mash of 70\s relics and Jamaican icons lining the walls. The fare is rustic and generous, with most dishes served to share and cocktails available in jugs! The dishes that can\t be missed are are the corn and the jerk chicken and the curries are pretty tasty too, but don\t wear your Sunday best, as it can get a little messy!

This restaurant has been on my list for a while, so when friends who love spicy food (to the extent that they carry Tabasco sauce with them) came to town it seemed like the planets were aligned. Upstairs at the Forrester\s Inn in Surry Hills, Queenies delivers Jamaican food that is not only so tasty that the Tabasco never made an appearance, it does so in great surroundings at a surprisingly reasonable price. This is food made for sharing and the smallish menu is diverse enough to make you believe that one trip is not enough. We are going again next week.
