Six visited last night (28th May 2016) for an undisclosed birthday celebration. I viewed the available live seafood and selected a 2.5kg southern rock lobster, a 1.6kg coral trout and 1kg of pippies. I added Peking duck, a prawn dish, fillet steak Chinese style and seasonable vegetables with mushrooms. The pippies with XO sauce were fantastic. Plump, juicy and great flavour. The lobster was cooked salt & pepper style using a gluten free flour. Big chucks of perfectly cooked (just done) lobster. A great course. The Peking duck was served with its super crisp skin and succulent flesh - the balance of the duck served as san chow bow. A carping criticism is the the pancakes tasted a little flowery. The coral trout steamed with ginger and garlic was another example of perfect cooking - just done. We enjoyed the other courses but they were just the normal excellent standard fare. We finished the meal with fresh fruit and fortune cookies. A great banquet that was presented with excellent service throughout.
