lovely small place, easy to run past without noticing it. Nice bar with a good selection of wines, cocktails, gins... Friendly service. Food: we share everything which is the way the food is supposed to be eaten here. As appetizers we had the beef tartare (yum!), the chicken liver (excellent!), and the cheese balls (good, but not as good as the other two). Since the kitchen is very small, the selection of food is also very limited with only 4 mains on the menu. We tried 3 of them, the snapper (which was unfortunately the only dish we didn\t like too much, below average I would have to say!), the chicken (pretty good), and the gnocchi (excellent!). The desert (the only one on the menu, the do have cheeses also though) was excellent also. Also had some cocktails which were great. Will definitely come back.

This is a great little spot on the edge of Balmain village. Quirky/retro interior and small outside courtyard are very comfortable . We have been several times for drinks there - they have a changing selection of wines by the glass and interesting food options from a tiny kitchen. Last night was a matched food and wine evening with German and Austrian wines. 5 course Menu was excellent and was accompanied by a talk on each of 6 wines . Highly recommended.
