Perfect food, nice sake suggestions from a very attentive waiter, nice setting, good noise level. Perfection in all senses

We found this small, but very special place by chance. Hidden behind a small black door on East 5th Street is this nondiscript "Jewel" for any fan of contemporary and authentic Sushi and Sashimi. It has been awarded a Michelin Star for the past several years not because of any fancy interior design, which is kept to the basics, but for the amazing food prepared there. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. I had the the tasting menu, which was the perfect introduction for a first time visit. My wife had a selection from their a la carte menu , which was brilliant as well. Even something simple like a Misu soup was so tasty, that I have seldom tasted outside of Japan. They even make their own Soya sauce and the wasabi is freshly ground and served at your table. By no way comparable with any of the "off the shelf " produce you get in a mainstream conveyor belt fly by sushi. We will definitely be back.

I had dinner with my wife in this Michelin Sushi restaurant. I wanted to sit on the chef counter, but unfortunately the counter was fully booked. The decor of the small dining hall was also impressive though. I ordered Omakase Sushi & Sashimi at 85 USD p.p. There were approx. 10 pieces of Sashimi, 7 pieces of Sushi and 3 pieces of Sushi-Rolls. Most of the fish for Sashimi and Sushi were my favorite such as O-Toro, Kinmedai and Isaki, although I missed sea urchin. The tastes were very good and we were satisfied the qualities of Sushi & Sashimi. Personally, I wanted to have some grilled fish or crab between Sashimi and Sushi in this course menu. Nonetheless, this Sushi restaurant is recommendable.
