I was compelled to write this review in TripAdvisor for 2 reasons - first, to show my appreciate for another perfect meal I ordered today and second, to counter the negative reviews about this place I just saw on TripAdvisor. Granted, if you are a one-time visitor you can get a restaurant on their off day. I have been coming here for at least 12 years and I think of it as a hidden gem. I am not Middle-Eastern but I enjoy various food and am considered a gourmet about my friends. I traveled throughout Europe, Middle East and North Africa and I can confidently tell you that this tiny little restaurant makes very high-quality tasty dishes. Today, I ordered on of my regular dishes - lamb shawarma, tabouli/babaganush/falafel trio and all of it was amazing. Shawarma was succulent, tasty and I had to restraint myself not to call for another one (which I have done in the past). Tabouli is never soggy, fresh, wonderful, Babaganush not to heavy as in a lot of places. Falafel is as good as ever, I have 2 other falafel places literally within a block from me but I can\t go there after tasting Sido\s. The quality is better and the price is somehow cheaper. I think we should be lucky it is not a chain and owners/cooks are very proud of the food and its quality. Thank you, Sido, for another excellent meal!

In my humble opinion this is the best place for having falafel in the whole upper west side. The owner is a very nice and gentle middle-east man, always ready to offer you a taste of food if you are not sure of what to choose. Everything is great: the kebab, the hummus, the babagannoush... But the felafel is simply perfect: delicious, astonishingly good. You really cannot miss it.
