The best authentic Pakistani-Indian food I\ve ever had! The tandoori chicken I had was beyond perfection. There was not a single item we ordered that was disappointing!

Pakwan has several locations and the one I went to for dinner was on O\Farrell. I ordered Samosa, Chicken Masala, Chicken Breast Tandoori and Rice. Everything was good. Nothing to write home about. Except the Tandoori dish. OMG. Succulent, moist and as tasty as you could want. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars was their service arrangement. I ordered, they gave me a number for the table. I waited and my Lassi drink that never came. My number was called and I go up and the dishes are all there except the tandoori. I shake my head. Could I not have had the Samosa as an appetizer? I asked after my drink and the guy who took my order pointed to the cold case. Knowing what Lassi looks like I grabbed the only one there amongst the other bottled drinks. It\s an odd feeling the first time you eat there. They don\t ask if you been there before and maybe they will explain their rules. Regardless, you\ve been told - you have to grab your food and your drinks yourself. Just like a fast food place. But this isn\t a fast food place. It\s really a takeout restaurant that has a number of tables. I\m giving the staff less than average BECAUSE I had to figure these things out myself. They were nice and answered questions directly put to them but didn\t offer help. As to price, guides put this at a cheap price point and I agree. Ordered 4 items and a drink cost me just under $25. I was very hungry and left fully satisfied. I\m a big guy so the two entrees made sense for me. Nice staff. Great meal.
