We went for dinner at Harold and Belle’s based upon the good reviews and ratings for the restaurant. It was a late dinner, almost 9pm. The place has a very attractive interior design. It is a big place, so, it is hard to tell if it was crowded. The staff were great in checking to see if my wife food allergies were compatible with her order. They were careful to check all the ingredients. She ordered the large house salad with grilled shrimp. It was a huge salad with plenty of shrimp. My son ordered the Red Snapper platter. Small filets of red snapper grilled along with some grilled shrimp. There was also rice and beans. I had the fried catfish dinner. It came with a delicious clam chowder and French fries. The small filets of catfish filled the plate. I barely finished half of them. Everything was great. It does remind one of some of New Orleans favorite eats. No one went away hungry. There were lots of doggie bags.

The renovation is nicely done and the food is still very good; however, the service is still slow. The bar area is really nice. Everyone is friendly and they seem to be trying to improve but the service remains spotty. As long as you\re not in a hurry, it is well worth going here since you won\t find better Creole food anywhere else. There is limited street parking so you will probably have to use valet parking which is reasonably priced. I will return and would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
