Wanna go barefoot? Rent a kayak first? Get takeout and eat on the restaurant property? Agua Verde jump started a business/vacation in the university sector of this lovely city, the air fragrant with early summer blooms and Mexican mole and pepper spices. An appetizer of local oysters had me salivating and remembering my childhood days on the Louisiana gulf. A talented cook dredged the mollusk babies in the coarsest and most flavorful masa, melding perfectly the taste of corn and sea. I loved the agua fresca de lima y pina, made on-site. Then came the entrees--Hubby wisely picked the choose three enchiladas and promptly shared the humongous entree. I ordered the three sides and corn tortillas... which now took me to Guatemala and delicate, hand-rolled wonders...I loved the contrast between my cactus salad--spicy--and my fruity and creamy cherry slaw. We were too full to sample the homemade Key Lime pie. Maybe next time. Service was a bit leisurely and my hubby\s margarita was a bit watery...but the quality local food outshone these deficits...and hey, low-key works just fine when you\re overlooking a beautiful Washington lake.

A must when visiting Seattle. Wonderful local restaurant with super fresh and very delicious food! Right on the water, so relaxing and beautiful views. Don\t be scared away by the line when going by, moves pretty quickly and plenty of seating! Just awesome, delicious, exceptional food!!!!

A cousin and I decided to treat ourselves and wanted "Mexican on the Waterfront." Initially put off by no one answering the phone, we decided to chance it. (They only take reservations for large groups.) There is a nearby pay-to-park lot as well as some street parking. The view faces The Montlake Cut between Lakes Washington and Union; no sunset, but lots of boating activity! In fact, one can rent kayaks and paddleboards downstairs from the restaurant. The aroma when we walked in was wonderful, and we greeted immediately. There is a salsa bar from which patrons can help themselves. There is both inside and deckside seating. The menu was extensive, making it hard to choose, but we were happy sharing delicious nachos and the Tuesday special, a gigantic chili relleno. The house margarita was refreshing but seemed weak; the Cadillac I ordered next was great. They close at 9, and close between lunch and dinner, but I\ll be back! This place is within walking distance of the University of Washington, and we may have lucked out getting an immediate table on a sunny day (school not in session).
