Birthday dinner and cocktails for a friend. The four of us raved about the cocktails and the food. The music was excellent, very good view. I asked the bartender to create a special "birthday" cocktail round for us based on general ideas (not sweet, bourbon-based, something that would pair well with what we were eating). He delivered in spades. Would definitely return again. I wish I had something comparable in Toronto.

I knew from when I first entered that there was a great sense of tradition here. The menu is everything one would expect. Many patrons seemed to know each other and were familiar with the piano player. We had a delightful meal and enjoyed the feel of this place. It was the perfect and unpretentious way to end our Seattle visit.

Here is what I mean, upon walking into the restaurant I felt like I was on the set of Soprano\s or Goodfellas. However, wait staff was very much hipster crowd. I have driven by this restaurant many times but never stopped. What finally got me here was live music. We were there on a Saturday night and they had piano music (which is very hard to find in Seattle nowadays). We showed up a bit after 7pm and the place was packed. By 7:45pm most of the happy hour crowd had departed. Great old school vibe. We had the antipasto which was fine. Service was great! My only complaint was bar tables were a bit small. We had to pull two tables together so we had space for our appetizer and drinks. I am looking forward to visiting next time I am in the area.
