Great little spot in Columbia heights. Jason was a helpful and fun bar tender and the selection of drinks available means no one is going to be disappointed

I have been wanting to see the Red Derby for sometime. This week I decided to pop in for a drink, no regret at all. I consider this place a good neighborhood dive bar with its own characters. I definitely will continue to frequent the Red Derby. The bartender "Beth" is wonderful. She made me feel at home by introducing me to the "locals". If you are beer drinkers, especially can, this place is for you. The catch is a cash only bar. Don\t worry, the money machine is located right next to the bar. If you are not from the neighborhoods (in the area) and want to try it out, I strongly suggest going with someone who knows the place or go in with a couple people. Oh, don\t make a big fuzz if the bartender asking for your ID, and keep it if you will have your tap open. That is the way they identify you with your check.
