If you are looking for good Japanese food at an Izakaya, this place is for you. It\s more upscale than the regular noisy Izakaya, but the same atmosphere. I gave this a 3-star because I thought the food was good and it was also well presented. It deserved a 1 or 2 for the service. It was so shockingly bad, seriously! that I don\t plan to go back. Seriously! I never thought I would say that about Japan, I don\t want to say it\s because it was a foreigner group, but you have to wonder sometimes. The waiter just seemed to not want us there so what would have been a 2-3 hour meal with friends stretched out to over 4 because we could hardly get his attention. Maybe it was a busy night. We sometimes thought he must have forgot about us. Some things we ordered were out of stock, but instead of telling us, he made us wait and wait and then finally after asking again, he informed us they didn\t have it... I hope this was a one-off experience. We got gifts at the end of the night as an apology so there\s the extra star for this review. Tip: The counter is nice for laughs with friends, but if you want more privacy and to get away from the really loud music reserve the back room.
