I recently stayed overnight at the Royal Park Hotel between flights. I had dinner at their restaurant called Tailwind. It is located just outside the reception area on your way to the departure level of Haneda International Airport. I selected a 2 appetizer, main course and dessert prix fix dinner. The first appetizer was grilled calamari with ratatouille - excellent flavour and presentation. Next was white asparagus with a very nice cream sauce - super. My main course was Salmon grilled and served over potatoes, vegetables and clams - delicious. My dessert was a sample of Tiramisu and Blueberry cake. On the dish was one blue berry and one raspberry plus a sugar coated candy. My only complaint were the portions were too small. Service was excellent by the way. Many servers assisted and made sure my water glass was never below half empty.

We had dinner there on 2 Jan. Our order of an assorted sausage plate, pizza, tempura, soup/salad/bread set, a tea and a plum sake came to about 5000 yen, which is pretty decent for a hotel restaurant, particularly in an airport, where food prices are sometimes quite cut-throat. The menu is quite limited, going for variety, rather than specialisation. Service was so-so, prompt as the restaurant was not crowded.
