Calvados is a good place to go watch football, in particular the Bundesliga, and in the spring and summer it\s also great for sitting outside and enjoying a drink. The square (Idaplatz) in front of the bar fills up (in the good way) over the summer with kids playing and locals hanging around and having a drink on the public benches. Calvados serves some food too, but more nibbles than full meals. Price level is OK for Zurich; service could have been more attentive - we sat outside and placing orders and getting the bill involved some waiting until a waiter came out.

I really like this relaxed bar at Idaplatz. They offer some light snacks of which my favorite is the sausage and cheese platter. I especially love coming here in summer, when you can sit outside but it is also worth a visit on cold and rainy days!
