Paolo has done it again! He managed to recreate the same feeling, good food, presentation and friendlyness as he and his father had at the former Hostaria Antica Roma. In my opinion this new location in front of the famed Cecilia Metella tomb on the Appian Way is probably nicer. The real plus is the beautiful garden and the tables facing the monument. A MUST!!!

We went for a stroll in the via Appia antica and were pointed towards this Osteria by the info point at the start (which was very good). It\s a funfamily run establishment serving honest homemade fare at reasonable prices. We had a lasagne, polpette di carne, choc mousse, jam tart, a couple of coffees and water for €27. Good value and very nice friendly service. No frills but happy to recommend.
