Although we normally prefer to go off the tourist routes to experience cities we visit, we feel that in Frankfurt one should do the "tourist routes" - the Römer, Basilica, the Zeil / Hauptwache, the Palmengarten and then the places like Goethehaus, etc. We enjoyed the lights festival in the Palmengarten. They can probably still improve it and make it a real year round drawcard for Frankfurt. The nice thing is that you can park in a spot like Kaiserplatz for a reasonable amount and from there walk to 80% of all tourist attractions in Frankfurt.

The hotel has a restaurant where you can order a-la-carte and its quality is good. The ambiance is a bit poor and at winter times you can feel cold air coming through the hotel entrance. With a bigger group you can get a seating in the \breakfast/dinner\ room. We eat at the bar where you can get a good burger with your drinks and it is delivered fast, reasonable price (< 10 euro).
