This place is certainly not in a tourist area, and that\s why it\s a good place to meet locals. The yummy and strong cocktails are 10-15 € (pretty standard price in northern Europe). The service is excellent! The friendly bar tender will sit down at your table and explain the cocktail menu and offer his/her recommendations. The drinks menu is vast and has both classics, as well as, innovative new drinks on it. This place should not be missed.

One of my all-time favourite cocktail bars. My wife and I first stumbled upon Saphire while we were on assignment in Berlin a number of years ago – we were lucky enough to call this establishment our “local” and it was a must-visit when we found ourselves back in Berlin for a weekend this past September. The drinks here are works of art and the barmen are masters of their craft, with an attention to detail is second to none. The cocktails aren’t cheap but they are great value for money and they will be made exactly to your specification, with some wonderful recommendations along the way if you’re unsure. This is not a “tourist” spot but you will find expats who are in the know. Definitely worth the short trip off the beaten path. I wouldn’t recommend Saphire for a “quick” drink – you’d be doing the place an injustice as they don\t rush their craft.
