I had lunch at Royal Madeleine on a Saturday this November. The food is as good as ever under head chef Martin Harispe. I had cepes and a perfect steak au poivre, with crepes Suzette for dessert. These are classic bistro dishes done with elan and outstanding produce. I had previously eaten here in October of 2014 and the charming and elegant Elodie Colin, the manageress, remembered the wine I had ordered then and smilingly asked if I wanted another bottle of the Alain Burguet, that I had last year? I nearly fell out of my chair in amazement at her memory! So after some excellent advice from Madame Colin I ordered a bottle of Nuit Saint George Clos de Marachale by Freddy Mugnier. It was superb as is the wine list at Royal Madeleine. Great food, an outstanding wine list and Elodie Colin; what a winning combination!
