We had spent the day at museum Pompidou and wanted something simple for dinner. Our hotel was located near the Bastille. We found a nice cafe bar which served hamburgers, salads and traditional French dishes, La Preau. I saw another guest had stewed lamb hock with mashed potatoes, so I ordered it. My wife had a cheese plate. We chased it down with two beers. Great traditional French food, friendly service at a great price. So what more do you want?

The wife and I stopped here for a quick lunch and drink after a day of walking around the Marais. The food is good and the prices are just fine. The wait staff were all very friendly. You can\t go wrong.

We were craving Blanquette De Veau, that long simmered stew of tender veal chunks in a silky, creamy sauce, and this little bistro was just down the street from our hotel and served an excellent version, along with a very reasonable wine list and very nice service from a youthful staff. Definitely recommended.
