This is a largeish establishment in a corner street behind Montmartre, which has somehow managed to remain true to its roots as a neighbourhood bistrot. The decor is not particularly new, and there is a bunch of cheerful drunks propping up the bar. The dining room is largely reserved for someone\s private birthday party to which guests are coming in one by one, but there\s room for you at this table by the window msieu, of course. There\s a very respectable wine list but the vins au pichet are perfectly drinkable; in the kitchen I can see someone fighting with a huge bunch of fresh parsley, which bodes well. And indeed my dinner (gigot d\agneau) when it comes is properly cooked with no fuss or ceremony, and some big chunks of garlic too. The tarte du jour was a clafoutis aux poires, clearly made on the premises. By nine pm the place is heaving with locals, not only for the birthday party, and not a non-Parisian in sight. Well worth 25 euros of anyone\s dinner money.

I just left this little and lovely place; the food was very nice, although I just ate a cold cuts platter. My friend found her cooked dish very tasty as well! Yes, english is, of course, not their first language, however we have been served by a very sweet waiter speaking a clear english, which helped us to understand the menu and he\s been very helpful all the night. I am pretty sure he was the only one speaking english, but the experience in a tipical parisienne restaurant was great even for this reason. I don\t think you will find much tourists in there, is the traditional cozy place where to spend time with your friends, not a tourist trap (as the ones nearby the attractions) at all. Loved it.
