I\ve already been there many times, and this is always a good surprise as I\ve never been disappointing! The kemia is just amazing, the service very friendly and the food tasty and in largely sufficient quantity! I recommend this place to anyone, and not only kosher eaters.

Having arrived at our hotel in the 19eme arrondisement late afternoon with not a clue where to eat, we resorted to good old Trip Advisor to find something close by. Mipi El seemed to be the best option for our needs Part of the problem with travelling in Northern Europe can be the lack of suitable food for Vegetarians however in France you can eat well if you choose the right kind of restaurant. Mipi El is a Kosher restaurant which serves Mediterranean and Tunisian dishes. Neither of us are Jewish but as the only other options in the neighbourhood seemed to be McDonalds and Pizza Hut, we thought we\d give it a try and were the first customers to arrive at 7pm on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is more of a cafe-bar with a large TV on the wall showing sport, a well stocked bar, and perhaps 12 tables. It\s fairly brightly lit and has family photos on the wall. The menu is varied with lots of meat and fish dishes, salads and couscous. The meal started with warm pitta-type bread - absolutely delicious - and a mezze. The owner brought out bowl after bowl of lovely salads and warm dishes to dip the bread into. All were suitable for a vegetarian and there were some lovely aubergine and bean dishes and a particularly good white cabbage salad which we have since recreated at home as we enjoyed it so much! For mains, my partner enjoyed a platter of hummus, falafel, salads and sauces with more of that yummy pitta bread. I had 3 huge lamb chops with green beans and salad. We had a bottle of wine with our meal and afterwards on the recommendation of the owner, we had a Tunisian Fig eau-de-vie called Boukha which is served from the freezer in small glasses. During our meal, several other guests arrived - all Jewish - but we were never made to feel uncomfortable. In fact the owner was very attentive and really made us feel at home.
