Paris is a city where good Mexican restaurants do not last long, they usually either disappear or become a tex-med version of themselves. I am a huge fan of cochinita pibil and guacamole, if I can I eat them once a week at least. That\s why whenever I move to a new city, I look for Mexican restaurants that serve these two dishes. My former favorite Mexican restaurant in Paris (Casa Palenque) disappeared so I had to find a new home. After finding out about Huitzlin on the internet, I called to check with them if they did have guacamole and cochinita - they did, and off we went. The restaurant is very small, there is room for approximately 16 people inside. They do offer take away if you live nearby (and I saw my people from the neighbour getting guacamole). The decoration is cute but nothing fancy, pretty much like many restaurants in Paris. About food, their guacamole is really good. Their cochinita pibil is very tasty (but completely different from all the cochinitas pitiless I have ever had, since they do now allow the liquid to evaporate). The menu doesn\t offer much more but they always have a dish of the day (birria, tinga, etc.). Tortillas are hand made and smell so good I could roll myself in them: wheat tortillas are soft but firm, corn tortillas are tiny and tasty (I recommend you ask for both with your dish). Their frozen margaritas are very good too, they are made to order. I have been to Huitzlin twice and will for sure come back. As you have probably already guessed, I am all happy because I have found my restaurant and can eat beloved guacamole, cochinita and much more :)

My partner and I visited Paris on the 2nd/3rd/4th of November where we kicked off our interrailing tour. On our first evening in Paris (we were staying in an Airbnb in Place Edith Piaf) we were hungry after our day of travelling and wanted food. We looked up tripadvisor and this restaurant was suggested - it did not disappoint! I ordered the beef burrito and my other half had the chicken fajitas. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and were made to order - it\s an open kitchen so you can see the chef prepare everything (while he sings along with the radio!) the food was on our table within 10 minutes and it was glorious! The fajitas came with plenty of tortilla wraps and my burrito came with crisps and a dipping sauce. We were offered the desert menu but there was no way we could fit any more food into our bodies! If you\re around Place Edith Piaf I would definitely recommend this place. The waiting staff are very polite and are willing to help with any queries (especially if you don\t speak French - we don\t).
