We have patronized this restaurant for more than five years, since it launched in a shoebox location near the Pompidou Museum. It has moved to more spacious quarters in the 8th Arrondissement, but has retained its charm and modest prices. Very friendly service, a very pretty interior. Most of all, the food is fabulous. We had two nights of dinners in Paris recently. We went to Le Gaigne the first night and enjoyed it so much we returned the following evening.

We came back to La Gaigne for the high point of my birthday trip to Paris. It was another incredible meal from this great restaurant. We had the tasting menu with a bottle of Pomerol and the five courses still stand out in our minds. The April tasting menu started with black pudding loaf with foie gras, followed by ring of red radishes over cream of green pees. Wonderful. Then filet of John Dory sauteed with ginger and cardamon. Next, roast breast of Dombes ducking withh rubarb cannellooni and confit thigh. To close, desert to die for. We told them we\ll be back again next year!
