We did not start the best foot forward but this restaurant was excellent. Upon calling for reservations for a Saturday evening we were told that there were two seatings at 8pm and 9:30pm. We chose the 8pm seating and were "warned" that we should vacate right away for the next seating. On the night of the reservation, restaurant called to confirm. Just the same, was not the most welcoming approach. We think that they are just too busy and popular. However, all is well that ends well. We arrived on time and were warmly welcomed and immediately seated on the one narrow table of 12 fixed stools and were presented with menus. There is also a long bar next to the open kitchen. Selections were tapas-style small plates with a special of 3 plates for 32€ that we four all chose. Bottled wine was 26€ and up; glasses were around 7€. Our plates were served as soon as prepared and not all together which gave us time to slowly enjoy and share the super fresh fish and seafood. Plates were large and very well presented. We sampled many excellent plates but not the oysters. The scallops, cerviche de dorade, fresh anchovies and poulpe were particularly fine and well presented with small slices of citrus peel and/or sauce. We did not take dessert as it was already a very satisfying dinner. As the plates were not served before our 9:30pm exit time, we could not leave before 10pm. The next seating attentively waited. This restaurant is definitely for seafood lovers. Few vegetables are served (a shame there was not a salad) and no meat. Probably not a great place for children. Absolutely a must to make reservations on the weekend. We will return. (French, English and Spanish spoken here).

We had already eaten at Le Verre Vole and it was packed, so we wandered down the street to the year-old namesake with an oceanic twist. It is a tapas type restaurant featuring les fruits de mer. This was the best meal that we have had in our week in Paris. The staff is friendly, which goes a long way towards making your experience pleasant, but that is only the opening to a memorable evening. The wine list features only Vin Naturel, which is sulfite-free. The menu changes often, but we can recommend almost anything. Three of us tried out two different oysters and six small plates, which are actually quite substantial. Nothing is too fussy or pretentious, but the combinations are interesting and surprising. The Maquereau de St. Jean de Lux with sauce teriyaki and salsa verde aux chataignes was exceptional and the fresh chestnuts added a sweet surprise to an interesting sauce. All in all, a truly exceptional and notable experience.
