We discovered this cafe several years ago and return for lunch (dejeuner) every time we go to the Mephisto store down the street. My husband really likes their omelets but the real draw is their Croques, particularly the Croque Auvergnat which is made on their special bread with jambon blanc (white ham), shredded cantal, sauce béchamel, all topped with melted blue cheese from the Auvergne - fabulous, formidable!

We stayed at the Max Hotel a few blocks away. Le Courlis became our local cafe during our 9 day visit. The waiter was patient helping us decipher the menu, we felt very comfortable there. Every meal we had was enjoyable.
