I understand that steaks are at times cooked separately and then served on a HOT sizzling cast iron plate. But tonight my steak arrived on a STONE COLD NOT-SIZZLING cast iron plate. It was seriously stone cold. What\s that all about??? The steak was...a steak. Not bad. But I did also order a blue cheese sauce. I am quite prepared to be proved incorrect but I think it\s a long time since any actual, real blue cheese has been added to the sauce - and it might be a little tricky as there was such a thick "skin" on the top nothing could get through! I have given it two stars for the staff. The front-of-house young lady and our waitress were both excellent. The only thing/person missing was Fred Flintstone. It is definitely a blokey place.

Went last night with my wife for our anniversary, she\s been to the Hawthorn and Essendon Squire\s Loft and said they were AMAZING but we were extremely dissapointed by this dinner. When you order the most expensiive eye fillet steaks at a restaurant supposedly famous for its steaks you expect to be in for a treat! The eye fillets we were served up were tough, chewy and flavourless not to mention not being cooked how we\d asked. Admittedly the restaurant was packed and subsequently it was possible that quality cooking took a back seat at the time but really I can buy 3 eye fillets from the butcher for $10 and cook them infinitely better than the ones we paid $50 for last night. Only saving grace with the food was the sauce and chips which were great. When we mentioned it to the staff they were good about it and credited 1 eye fillet to the bill but since neither of us ate our dinner we still paid $50 more than we owed in my opinion. Certainly wont be going back there.
