We stayed here and ate in the restaurant 3 nights, for two of the nights I had the beef and 3rd night the venison. Both were cooked and presented to perfection. I even tried two of the desserts. Chocolate Brule and mango/passion fruit cheesecake and once again they were perfect, portions don\t seem large but they were filling. Staff were wonderful. We don\t come up to Auckland often but next time we do we will be back to stay here.

Easy to give this dinning experience a five. It ticked so many boxes. Relaxed atmosphere, treated so well, service was top rate, I do love table clothes and cloth napkins. A fine dining experience with divine tastes and exceptional wines to choose from. I loved the St Clair Riesling and the dessert wine. The soup was such a smooth Leek and Potato. The vegetables and mushroom rissoto went so well with the crusted very tender beef fillet. Felt very healthy.

Nice hotel with excellent views of Auckland and the Waitakere. A couple of bush walks on site is a bonus and proximity to Piha beach and Titirangi Village is great. The huge lounge with open fire is superb and the food was excellent as was the service. However... the place is looking a bit tired. Has the feel of slightly fading Hollywood about it. The sauna did not work and there was no aircon so I would not stay in summer. We stayed in winter so no problem on our visit. We would stay there again.
