We are staying at the generator in Venice. So far we have been in two Michelin recommended restaurants in Venice. To be honest the food quality hasn\t been great in most of the restaurants so far. Al Pontil Dea Giudecca gets five stars because of the execution of the food and quality of the service. Al Pontil represents real peasant food at its finest (local produce and good recipes) The rating is in correlation to the price range and type of establishment it represents- authentic, clean, simple, friendly, family run, daily menu, affordable, rustic, homemade, good quality ingredients and taste. We had bean and pasta bean soup, gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream, and pork escalope with masa wine and mixed seasonal vegetables. Presentation was simple, gnocchi was light and fluffy, soup was well seasoned and pasta cooked to perfection. What you would imagine a big Italian Moma would cook you The condiments and bread on the table were of good quality. Service was attentive and caring. Nice view on river front.
