Irish Pub set to one side of Piazza San Giovanni - the big square with the Duomo (cathedral), campanile (bell tower) and Baptistry Serves basic food and a good pint of beer/Guinness There is an upstairs which few people find with a balcony with just two stools and a round table on overlooking the square - brill for people watching. The staff are friendly and helpful Don\t tell too many people about the balcony - we hope to find it free for us the next time we\re in Florence!!

I spent two weeks in Florence and was living in apartment 10mins from Duomo. I used this as a quick pit-stop whenever I fancied a quick beer, somewhere to rest my legs for a bit and use free wifi to upload a few photos to facebook of the days siteseeing. I only ever drank in the main downstairs bar part - never ventured upstairs. The bar staff were always very attentive - they took my order as soon as I approached the bar. As they walked passed to go outside or around the bar collecting drinks they would see if my drink was low or finished and asked if I wanted a refill. Always prompt with the next drink which was appreciated after a long days siteseeing - thirsty work ;) I visited at various times: mid-afternoon, late afternoon, early evening, late evening, late night. It always seemed quite busy but I always found a bar stool free. Yes, you might sit close to others but it\s a small bar. And sometimes that environment lets you socialise and start a conversation with a fellow tourist or local. I agree with another comment - this isn\t really an irish bar - but most bars outside of Ireland aren\t - they all just serve Guinness and adorn the walls with kitschz. I would say that this place isn\t somewhere you go to spend the entire night. If you are at Duomo and have a thirst for a beer/cocktail then stop by. Indoors there are tv\s normally showing live sports channels. Outdoors there\s \Duomo\.
