We returned to Davio\s for restaurant week as we liked the prix fixe menu choices and Davio\s is not inexpensive. We had to wait quite awhile for our table though having a reservation. People just stayed and stayed despite the fact that the restaurant was full and it was obvious that people were waiting for their table. Christine, the manager, was truly apologetic and did everything she could in a tactful way to encourage the seated to arise. We really appreciated her concern and effort. When we finally were seated, she treated us to drinks, again thoughtful and appreciated. After this beginning, all went very well. My salmon was excellent; my husband enjoyed his steak and our appetizers of salad with beets and a cream soup were perfectly prepared. It\s a pleasure to eat hot soup. Service is warm and professional, noise level is appropriate for conversation, and the ambience is casually elegant. In short, Davio\s will provide you with a dining experience worth having the splurge.

We were here a little over a month ago when we sat at a booth. The service then was borderline mediocre partly because they could not keep track of who ordered what and had to “auction off” everything and brought entrees too early. This time the runners got everything right first time and service was properly paced. Our appetizers and entrees were attractively plated and properly prepared. My Bolognese had plenty of meat and not too much pasta and tasted great.

The Davio\s in Boston is a better menu and I found it more to my liking. Four of us had a better meal in Boston. However, it did have a very good gluten free menu and gluten free rolls for one of our guests. My main course was a pasta & clam sauce which was average and had a very good side dish of cauliflower with raisins. One of my guests had crispy chicken livers which was excellent.
