We were almost scared off by previous reviews and so glad we gave it a try! First off, the staff is amazing - nicest people and our waitress was fabulous. Second, the food was very good and very fresh, tasty and light - perfect after long days of walking around Kyoto. We liked it so much we went three out of four nights here. We had guacamole and chips, and my husband had beef tacos while I had the shrimp and guacamole tacos. On the last night we added the quesadilla - all was excellent. Now previous reviews said there was a two drink minimum but we don\t know since we each had couple of beers. The beers are expensive (around $8 each) but the food is very reasonable - each of our dishes about $10US. Definitely recommend

The food was actually not bad. My husband is a vegetarian so they accommodated that very well. They had an English menu. Three stars for that! But be prepared... The service is so bad. They made us wait without saying a word to us for at least 15 minutes. We were not sure if they were avoiding us or if we should leave. Finally we were seated and we told that we have to order drinks. Which was ok. The silly part was the waitress gave us a bell and told us to call her whenever we needed her. We kept ringing it and she kept looking at us and would not come over!! We called another waitress and told her that we needed to order. Even then our waitress did not show up. Finally we called over the second waitress again and she took our order. Then our original waitress never came back. Maybe she didn\t like us I don\t know. But we literally had to force the waitresses to take our orders. I have written quite a few reviews and I have never felt this before but I felt quite bad. It was as though they just did not want to serve us.Not a pleasant experience. The only good thing was that the chef was willing to make anything on the menu vegetarian.. But still would not come back. Would rather starve in Kyoto than come back here.
